At the beginning of the new semester, Zhu Shize, Party Secretary of QNU and Qu Guangqing, President of QNU, received a letter from Dr. Chen Shouren, honorary chairman of Quanzhou Normal University and chairman of Chen Shouren Business School.

On the eve of the Spring Festival, Party Secretary Zhu Shize and President Qu Guangqing sent a new year's message for 2019 to the members of the school board.

The reply from Dr. Chen expressed appreciation for Quanzhou Normal University 's achievements and encouraged the future development of the QNU. As was said in the letter, led by the new leadership, QNU made brilliant and hard-won achievements in its education and administration in 2018, especially in winning the National Teaching Achievement Award for the first time, being the only university in Fujian Province listed as the Outstanding Traditional Chinese Culture Inheritance Base, and being selected as the "Double tops" Construction University in Fujian Province. Dr. Chen Shouren hoped that in the new year, QNU would score more brilliant successes on its road to promoting "double tops" construction, implementing the "three-step" development strategy and building a distinctive and high-level multidisciplinary university.
